Among them, the total export of canned fruits was 792,700 tons, a year-on-year increase of 7.9%; the total export of canned vegetables was 2.058 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.52%. Liu Youqian, chairman of the China Canning Industry Association, said that in 2024, my country's canned fruit and vegetable industry will face a complex and changing market environment, the pressure of rising costs, and a complex international environment. The total export volume of canned fruit and vegetable products will still be at a historically high level. Overall, my country's canned fruit and vegetable products have a very stable position in the international market and are difficult to be easily replaced by other countries.
According to customs data, the total export value of canned fruits and vegetables in my country in 2024 was US$3.859 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 21.42%. Among them, the total export value of canned fruits was US$1.179 billion, a slight increase of 0.49% year-on-year; the total export value of canned vegetables was US$2.68 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 28.3%. In this regard, the China Canning Industry Association stated that the price fluctuations of my country's canned fruit and vegetable products in the international market are in the normal range, and the price fluctuations of export products are affected by factors such as international market demand, production costs and domestic enterprise competition. In the long run, domestic canning companies are constantly improving production efficiency and improving production equipment. With the continuous improvement of product quality and safety, the relative price of canned fruit and vegetable products in my country compared with similar international products will rise with the improvement of quality.
With the stable performance of the international market, the domestic market of canned fruit and vegetable industry in my country has gradually tended to benign competition. It is no longer based solely on price as the main competitive factor, but pays more attention to whether the product can meet the personalized needs of consumers.
According to the China Canning Industry Association, in terms of innovation, canned fruit and vegetable products pay more attention to the beauty and easy opening of packaging, and small packaging bowl cans have been well promoted in the industry. In terms of application scenarios, canned vegetables have a growing frequency in catering kitchens due to their good storage and safety. The domestic demand market for canned products such as tomatoes, bamboo shoots, and corn is relatively bright. In terms of brand building and marketing promotion, more and more companies are gradually expanding the market and enhancing brand awareness and reputation through the mutual complementation between multiple online and offline channels.
